We rent a house and now half of the heaters/radiators are not working, for about 2 weeks already. The landlord is not doing anything about it, is there somewhere i can complain? Somesort of organisation that can help you with your rights as a tennant?
Send an email to the landlord and tell him that if he doesn't have this fixed immediately you will get a plumber and deduct the cost from next months rent.

This is probably a problem with the flow of hot water into the house. Maybe somebody turned down the flow. U should check the valve that controls the flow of water into the house. Very unlikely that many ovens break at the exact same time. So check this out.

Hi yes, the problem is I don't have access to the main hot water pipe, it comes in to the basement and there is somebody else living there, but he has the same problem but worse, none of his heaters are working :( Yesterday 'a friend of a friend of a friend' from the landlord came to look and also thought it was a flow problem. But still nothing got solved. I did turn up the heater in the garage where the landlord is storing his stuff maybe this will create more flow? I don't really care about getting into a fight with the landlord, I am leaving Iceland and already ended the lease with a 3 month notice so anyway I am out of the by the end of February. Only thing is he has my deposit in his account which is a 3 month amount :( I just pissed of by the way he is not doing anything about it.
No there is no need for a plumber if ur neighbor is also haveing problem. Then its clearly a flow problem. Probably somebody just turned the valve down by accident. U need to explain this to ur landlord. It is in his best interes not to let this happen. It can lead to alot of diffrent kind of problems within the apartment.
Wallah | ok, I will try to talk to him again about it. Thanks y'all
You must be hurry now it is cooling down next days. One mentioned that you or your landlord should talk to the Power supply Orkuveita if you are in Reykjavik or in the are around.

I called Orkuveita but they say I need to get a plumber. They think it's a pressure issue. Problem is I don't have access to the basement apartment where all the pipes are. On a positive note, the landlord will coming over here to have look next week. So with a bit of luck I won't freeze to death just yet :) We have a lot of water accumulating from the windows which creates much mold. I will just leave everything as it is now so he can see for himself.
